Born Of The Will Of God 2

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

There are informative passages in the Bible that speak of water that is not H2O. Jesus called it living water.

John 4:10: Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Ezekiel 36:25: Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Titus 3:5: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

The washing of regeneration speaks of the cleansing from sin that occurs when we become born of the will of God, born of the Spirit of God, born of living water, born of the Word of God and born of an incorruptible seed, and there is something from God in us that is incorruptible and eternal.

1 Peter 1:23: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 John 3:9: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

But there is still a part of us that is corruptible and mortal, our flesh.

Galatians 5:25: If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:16: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

So how can we know when we are walking in the Spirit and when we are fulfilling the lust of the flesh? At its simplest, we are walking in the Spirit when we are obeying God and we are fulfilling the lust of the flesh when we are sinning.

Colossians 3:23: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Whatsoever ye do includes everything we do.

1 Thessalonians 5:18: In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Everything that happens in the life of one who has been born again will be according to the will of God. What happens to Him will either be blessings when He obeys the Lord or chastening and correction when He does not. God wants it to be blessings. What do you want it to be?

Romans 6:1: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
